A well-lit yard gives you the option of keeping the party going after the sun goes down. It adds safety and security to your property. By adding solar lighting to your yard it allows you an inexpensive and rapid way to give your home a new look.

Before deciding on a sure type of solar light, take a walk just about your yard during the day and decide what area should be lit. There are many things to consider when deciding what to light. Keep in mind that the fewer basics you choose to light, the stronger the chart impact will be.

During the day, the sun lights the whole thing from the similar angle, but at night, you can decide where the light will go. Use different lighting styles to accent the unique individuality of the object you’re lighting. For example, a unique bush will look better lit up than its leaves, but a rose plant may look elegant lighting up its flower.

No solar light will work if covered in snow or ice. Solar lighting best surroundings are in a place where it gets at least 4 hours of sunlight. The recommended operating temperature range for most NiCd batteries is -4F to 140F for discharging, 32F to 113F for charging, and -22F to 122F for storage.

Taking care of your solar lights during the off season will allow you to use them again once the snow is gone and the warm weather returns. Spring will arrive and once again you will be able to put them outdoors again. If an exacting accord worked well the previous season, you may want to diagram where each piece was before pulling them up. From time to time a new arrangement may work out better. That is the beauty of solar lights. You can progress them around to wherever suits the mood.

We all have access to a free, bright and renewable source of light – the sun. A great way to utilize it after dark is with solar lights. Solar Lightings have come a long way in the last few years and offer a wide array of styles, shapes and materials. They are powered by rechargeable batteries and can light up an area for the entire night. The lights are powered by light emitting diodes (LEDS) which rival hard-wired lights. They are very durable and can last for up to 1,000 hours.

There may be even more advantage to solar lighting based on your application. They do offer a real alternative to hard-wired lighting and are real versatile. They allow you the option to spending time outdoors after dark and allow you to light up any areas you may want. Solar lighting is a very versatile way to light up your yard.

Solar lightings are a great way to enlighten your gardens, decks and walkways at night. Solar outdoor lighting can create a whole new look and feel around your home. People choose outdoor lighting for a variety of reasons:

1. • Accenting trees, shrubs, planting beds or architectural features to turn them into focal points.

This problem is solved with the use of a special system. Conserving water is a great advantage to the pump. Both water conservation and a faster hot water supply are the main benefits of them. However, a limited amount of warm water supply is the main con.

You can use a small electric unit as a booster for a remote bathroom or laundry, or kitchen for cooking and instant coffee, etc. Units of gas with one foot (always arriving through burning) pilot, partially offset the savings from the elimination of tank standby losses connected with the energy consumed by the pilot. Moreover, a significant heat, the heat produced by the pilot of standard solar type water in the tank, heat is lost only with the units instantly.

Installing solar water heater has considerable environmental benefits and reduces the carbon dioxide emissions caused by burning fossil fuels. It’s a really good way to make your home more environmentally friendly, and can also save you money – a properly installed solar water heating system should pay for itself within 3 to 7 years.

Any time you use solar energy to offset the amount of fossil fuels that are burned, you contribute to everyone’s health and welfare. Operating one solar water heater instead of an electric water heater saves the equivalent of nine barrels of oil every year and reduces carbon dioxide emissions (a greenhouse gas) by 1600 pounds and sulfur dioxide (contributes to acid rain) emissions by 12 pounds. Multiply those emissions per household by all the homes in your neighborhood, town, county, or province, and the benefits — and the air and water — become even clearer. Environmental Consciousness is a state that induces action through your belief in leaving a better world for yourself and future generations. We are all free to believe what we choose and what we each do, attests to what we believe.

Another great reason to switch to a solar water heater is financial. According to the EESI, residential solar water heater systems cost start with 10500$ compared to electric and gas heaters. With savings in electricity or natural gas, solar water heaters pay for themselves within four to eight years. And solar water heaters last between 15 and 40 years–the same as conventional systems–so after that initial payback period is up, zero energy cost essentially means having free hot water for years to come.

What’s more, in 2005 the U.S. began offering homeowners tax credits of up to 30 percent (capped at $2,000) of the cost of installing a solar water heater. The credit is not available for swimming pool or hot tub heaters, and the system must be certified by the Solar Rating and Certification Corporation.

The oldest method of making hot water with the sun is probably the passive solar hot water systems. Back in the early 1900’s they could be seen on roofs of homes mostly in the warmer areas of the country.

Today they are still a very popular way to use the sun to heat water. Passive systems have no moving parts only the holding tank for the water which is usually in a box with a glass front to take in and hold the heat. The holding container is painted black to absorb the heat from the sun.

Think of the inside of your car on a hot bright day, you can see how it could get pretty warm in the box. Even in the winter your car can warm up inside when the sun is up so making hot water in the winter with a passive water heater is possible in some places. Your major concern in the winter is your water freezing in the pipes. For this reason you hay want to keep the pipes as short as possible.

The kind of temperatures you can get from a passive solar water heater can vary depending on the amount of sun, air temperature, insulation and the temperature of the water feeding into the heater. Under best conditions you might expect a temperature of up to 180 degrees by the afternoon. If you use a lot of hot water in the morning or early in the day, the heater should warm up more water by the afternoon.

Are you considering installing a solar water heater for your home? Solar heaters offer many benefits, but there are some disadvantages as well. Find out if a solar heater is right for your home.

How solar water heaters work?

Solar water heaters work pretty much the same way as any other solar powered device. Solar panels installed on your roof capture heat from the sun, than it is converted into electrical energy. The energy is stored in special batteries and the power is used as it is needed.

Advantages are obvious – solar energy doesn’t cost you anything, so you will be pleased to discover how much your energy bills go down with the installation of a solar heater. Another thing some people might not think about straight away is environmental issues. Using energy from the sun is environmentally friendly, so not only solar heater will save you money, but you will help to save our planet.

According to mechanical engineers of the most the Universities, an regular four-person household with an electric water heater needs about 6,400 kilowatt hours of electricity per year to heat their water. Assuming the electricity is generated by a typical power plant with an efficiency of around 30 percent, it means that the average electric water heater is responsible for about eight tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually, which is almost double that emitted by a typical modern automobile. The same family of four using either a natural gas or oil-fired water heater will contribute about two tons of carbon dioxide production annually in heating their water.

Having half of all households use Solar Water Heater might not be such a tall order. According to the Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI), there are 1.5 million solar water heaters already in use in U.S. homes and businesses. Solar water heater systems can work in any climate and EESI estimates that 40 percent of all U.S. homes have sufficient access to sunlight such that 29 million additional solar water heaters could be installed right now.
